What TL TALK RADIO is
TL TALK RADIO is an independent general-news publication. We cover the world as it moves through a single day: business and the economy, politics, health, science and technology, entertainment and sport, and the wider run of world and breaking news that does not fit tidily into one of those boxes. The name carries a broadcast history, but what you are reading is a news website, written to be read rather than heard.
We are independent in the plain sense of the word. No political party, government body, corporate group or single wealthy backer owns us or tells us what to run. That independence is the whole point of the place, and the details of who pays for it sit on our ownership and funding page where you can check them rather than take our word.
What we cover, and how we decide
The brief is broad on purpose. A reader should be able to arrive here for a market close and stay for a court ruling, a clinical trial result, a transfer story or an election count. Our sections run across business, economy, entertainment, health, politics, science, sports, technology and world news, and the front of the site is ordered by what matters that day rather than by what happens to be paying best.
We choose stories the way a small desk has to: by asking whether a reader is genuinely better informed for having read it. That rules out a good deal of what fills a slow afternoon elsewhere. We would rather publish six stories we can stand behind than sixty we scraped from a feed and never checked.
A small team, and why we do not print names here
We are a small editorial team rather than a masthead of celebrity bylines. That is a deliberate choice, not an accident of budget. The work is edited collectively, checked by more than one pair of eyes before it goes up, and owned by the publication as a whole. When something is wrong, it is our error to fix, not one writer left holding it in public.
We do not publish the names of individual staff on this page, and we ask readers to judge us by the work and by how we behave when we get something wrong. If you need to reach a specific person for a legal or professional reason, write to us and say why, and we will route you to the right desk.
How we handle being wrong
Every newsroom gets things wrong. What separates a serious one is what happens next. When we make a factual error we correct it on the original story, we date and describe the change, and we do not quietly rewrite a sentence and pretend the page always read that way. The same instinct runs through how we source and verify a story before it goes up. Our editorial standards and ethics and our fact-checking policy set out what we do to keep a claim off the page until we can support it, and how we separate reporting from opinion so a reader always knows which one they are getting.
How the site pays its way
TL TALK RADIO is free to read. There is no paywall and no subscription. The site is funded by advertising and, where we use them, by clearly marked affiliate links. Advertising is kept at arm’s length from the newsroom, an advertiser never sees a story before it runs, and buying space here buys no influence over coverage. If you want to advertise, our advertise page sets out what we sell and the categories we refuse.

Tips, corrections, pitches, complaints and legal notices all start there, and our contact page explains how to label a message so it lands on the right desk. If a story here is wrong, or thin, or unfair, the fastest way to change it is to tell us precisely what and where.
