One inbox, read by editors
Everything reaches us at support@tltalkradio.org. It is the only address we publish and the only one we stand behind. Our own editors read and sort it, not an outsourced help desk and not an automated reply. We deliberately run no maze of per-department aliases, because on a team this size they only create quiet corners where mail goes to die.
You will reach the right person faster if you put the purpose at the front of the subject line. CORRECTION, TIP, PITCH, ADVERTISING or PRIVACY is all we need to route it. If your message is about a particular story, paste the link rather than describing the headline from memory.
Corrections and complaints about coverage
If we have published something factually wrong, write with CORRECTION in the subject, include the link, and quote the exact sentence you are disputing. Names, places, figures and dates are what we most often get wrong and what we most want to hear about. Our corrections policy explains exactly what happens once your message lands and how quickly.
Complaints about framing, tone or a headline you think is unfair go to the same inbox, and where we can we hand them to an editor who had no part in the original story. If you want a reasoned answer rather than an edit, say so, and you will get one.
Story tips, and the confidential kind
Tips are among the most valuable mail we receive. A document, a filing, a notice on a board, a figure that does not add up in an official statement: send it, and tell us where and when you came across it. Specifics we can check ourselves are worth far more than a rumour we cannot.
If sending us something could put your job, your safety or your standing at risk, protect yourself before you write. Use a personal account on a personal device, and make CONFIDENTIAL the first word of the subject so the message is treated that way from the moment it arrives. We will reply to agree a secure channel before you send anything sensitive. We do not identify our sources to anyone, advertisers and lawyers included.
Pitches, press releases and advertising
Freelance pitches are welcome, especially from reporters close to a story we cannot cover from a desk. Two or three paragraphs is plenty: what the story is, who you can talk to, and roughly what it will cost. Press releases are fine as plain text in the body of an email. We do not open unsolicited attachments from addresses we do not know.
Advertising, sponsorship and partnership enquiries go to the same inbox with ADVERTISING in the subject, and they are handled on the business side rather than by the desk that would report on you. What we sell, and the categories we will not run, is set out on our advertise page.
Privacy requests, legal notices and reply times
For access to or deletion of your personal data, or any question about what our analytics and advertising partners collect, write with PRIVACY in the subject. The rights you hold are described in our privacy policy. If you need a postal route to serve a legal notice, ask, and we will provide one.
We deal with corrections the same day we read them and aim to answer everything else within two working days, though a major breaking story stretches that. If a week passes with no reply, resend rather than assume we ignored you. And please do not treat any social media account as ours unless we have confirmed it. If an account claims to speak for TL TALK RADIO, ask this inbox first.
