Terms of Service

The short version

These terms are the agreement between you and TL TALK RADIO for your use of this website. Reading the site means you accept them. They are written to be understood, not to bury anything, but they are still the terms, so if a paragraph matters to you, read it rather than skim it. Where they touch data, our privacy policy governs, and where they touch our reporting, our editorial standards apply.

What we provide, and what we do not promise

We provide journalism and general information, free of charge, on a best-effort basis. We work to keep the site accurate, available and secure, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of the ordinary risks of the open web. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site at any time, and features that exist today may not exist tomorrow.

Nothing on this site is professional advice. Our disclaimer spells this out, and it is part of these terms. A story is a report of what happened, not guidance for your legal, medical, financial or personal decisions.

How you may use the site

You may read, link to, and share our work for personal, non-commercial use, with credit and a link back. That is the ordinary courtesy of the web, and we return it.

You may not do the following, and this list is not exhaustive:

  • Copy, scrape or republish our articles wholesale, whether by hand or by automated tool, without our written permission. Fair quotation with a link is welcome, lifting the whole piece is not.
  • Use the site in any way that breaks the law, infringes someone’s rights, or is designed to harm, harass or defame another person.
  • Attempt to break, overload, probe or interfere with the site, its security, or the servers and networks behind it.
  • Misrepresent yourself as connected to TL TALK RADIO, or use our name, look or marks in a way that suggests we endorse you.

Comments and anything else you submit

If you leave a comment, send a tip, or submit anything else, you keep ownership of what you wrote. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish, edit, store and reproduce it in connection with the site and its promotion. You are responsible for what you submit, you confirm it is yours to give, and you confirm it is not unlawful.

We moderate. We may edit or remove comments, decline submissions, or close a thread, at our discretion and without a duty to explain each decision. Abuse, spam, impersonation and anything unlawful will go. Removing a comment is not censorship of an argument, it is housekeeping on our own property.

Intellectual property

The articles, photographs, graphics, layout, code and the TL TALK RADIO name and marks are owned by us or used under licence, and are protected by copyright and related law. Your use of the site grants you no ownership of any of it. If you believe material here infringes your copyright, our DMCA and copyright policy tells you how to file a notice, and how to file a counter-notice if your work was removed in error.

Links to other sites

We link out constantly, to sources, documents and further reading. Those destinations are not ours, we do not control them, and a link is not an endorsement of everything on the far side of it. Once you leave this site, the terms and privacy practices of wherever you land are what apply, not ours.

Disclaimers and the limit of our liability

The site is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude the implied warranties that would otherwise attach, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the site or your reliance on anything published here. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and if you are a consumer, your mandatory local-law rights are untouched by any of this.

Changes, ending, and the law that applies

We may update these terms, and when we do the date below changes. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new version. We may restrict or end your access if you break these terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the place where TL TALK RADIO is established, and the courts there have jurisdiction, without stripping you of any protection your own local law guarantees you as a consumer. Questions about these terms go to support@tltalkradio.org, and our contact page lists the other ways to reach us.
